Ellisiv Tandberg is an award-winning Norwegian concert pianist whose performances combine artistic depth, expressive intensity and a distinctive Nordic musical perspective. She has won top prizes in international piano competitions, including First Prize at the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition (2024), Second Prize at the Alicante International Piano Competition (2024), and Third Prize at the Wiener Klassik International Piano Competition in Vienna (2024).

She has appeared as a soloist with leading Norwegian orchestras, including the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 19, she recorded Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 with KORK. Her concert appearances include Musikverein Wien, Oslo Concert Hall, the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, and Grieg Hall, as well as international engagements across Europe and the United States. In 2023, she was invited to perform 17 concerts as Pianist of the Week at Troldhaugen, Edvard Grieg’s former home. In summer 2026, she returned for 22 concerts in six days, presenting three programmes exploring the music of Grieg and the Nordic and French repertoire.

Tandberg studied with Professor Håvard Gimse at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and Professor Jura Margulis in Vienna, completing her Master of Music degree in 2021 with the highest possible distinction. That same year, she was invited to perform at Musikverein Wien as a representative of her university.

Her debut solo album, The Fire Sermon - Norse Saga, is scheduled for worldwide release on 20 November 2026. Recorded in Horten Church on a new Steinway D, the album brings together Nordic musical traditions and a broader European sound world, featuring works by Einojuhani Rautavaara, Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, Christian Sinding, Geirr Tveitt and Marcus Paus. The recording reflects Tandberg’s commitment to exploring the Nordic musical identity through a personal and contemporary artistic lens.
